Irene (Griffin) Wisener

Mrs. Irene Griffin Wisener, 94, passed away on Friday afternoon, April 11th, 2025. A native of Craven County, she was born July 18th, 1930. She was the youngest child born to Bryant Jackson Griffin and Sadie Williford Griffin and was a long-time resident of Dover, NC.

Irene was a member of Moseley’s Creek Free Will Baptist Church and loved having her family stop by for a visit and share in a laugh and time together. She also enjoyed countless hours in her yard, tending to her flowers, her garden, and watching the birds come and go with the seasons. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Wisener; sons, Loyd Jackson Wisener and John David Wisener; siblings, Leon Deans, Troy Deans, Oakley Griffin, and Bernice Griffin Russell.

Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren Jacqueline Webster-Clay and husband, Brian T. Clay of Lubbock, Texas; Lloyd Wisener II and wife, Denise Wisener of Deep Run, NC; Sabrina Wisener Holloman and husband, Russell Holloman of Youngsville, NC; Logan Wisener of Dover, NC. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Ciara Wisener, Caleb Webster, Cayden Webster, Hunter Wisener, Will Jewel, Emma Holloman, Lily Holloman, and Wade Holloman; and several great-great-grandchildren. 

 Graveside service will be held at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston on Friday, April 18th at 2:00 pm with Pastor Allen Ham officiating.
