Isabelle (Pollock) Rodgers

Isabelle Pollock Rodgers, 92, of Kinston passed away on April 1, 2018. She was born in Jones County on April 3, 1925 to the late Walter W. Pollock and Dora K. Pollock. Isabelle had been a long-time resident of Kinston since her marriage on January 25, 1944 to Reynold R. Rodgers, also of Kinston. The two met while working at J.C. Penney, and after a short courtship, were married at Queen Street United Methodist Church.

Isabelle is preceded in death by her husband Reynold and her two sisters Dorcas Lowery and Maxine Harrison.

She is survived by her son Jimmy Rodgers and his wife Faye of Cary; two grandsons Ryan and wife Jenny, Jason and wife Heather all of Cary; granddaughter Stephanie of Raleigh and four great grandchildren Ryleigh, Rowan, River and Sunny.

Isabelle attended the Trenton school system and East Carolina College. She spent many years as a homemaker and mother, but also retired from Caswell Center after a twenty-year career. She was a member of Northwest Christian Church for more than fifty years, and an active member of the church’s Love Group, where she made many dear and lasting friendships. During the last five years of her life she resided at Herritage Elite Retirement Community. While there she continued to live her life to the fullest and further expanded her circle of friends. She lived a truly good long life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Funeral service is schedule at Howard-Carter Funeral Home in Kinston at 1:00 p.m. on April 5, 2018. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park. A visitation will precede the funeral service at 12:00 p.m.
