Our sympathy and prayers go out to the family of James (Jim) Johnson on his peaceful passing early Monday morning, December 28th, at his home in Kinston with his daughter, Jeanine Callaway, by his side. Jim was a regular attendee of Gordon Street Christian Church. Jim was born and raised in the Toledo, Ohio area. He served in the U.S. Army overseas in Europe, then went on to careers with the Toledo Police force, General Motors Security, and had his own private dry-wall construction business. He retired at the age of 53 and passed away at 81.

He is survived by his son Robert (Rob) Johnson of Kinston, daughter Jeanine Callaway, husband J. Lea Callaway of Kinston, and his rescue kitty cat, Phoenix.

There will be no service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are welcome. Please direct them to Gordon Street Christian Church, 118 East Gordon Street, Kinston NC 28501.
