James Edward Price

James Edward “Jimmy” Price Jr., passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday May 6, 2025, at Spring Arbor of Kinston. 

Jimmy was raised in Kinston, NC with his sister Janice by their loving parents James and Marie Price. He attended and graduated from Grainger High School. 

He spent his adult life helping raise his three children. He and his wife, Myra Jo, loved attending ball games, dance recitals, musicals, school programs and anything else their children were involved in. During this time, he worked in business management in the car business before retiring.

His family was his greatest joy. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Price Sr. and Elizabeth Marie Stroud Price, his sister Janice Price Turner and his wife of 50 years, Myra Jo Smith Price.

He is survived by his son, James Thomas “Tommy” Price and his wife Amanda, and their children Zachary, Evan and Ethan of Greenville; son William Edward “Eddie” Price and wife Ivey, and their children William, Emerson and Finn of Grifton; daughter Kari Price Bienko and husband Pete, and their children Sarah, Bailey and Peter of Greenville.

The family would like to thank the staff at Spring Arbor of Kinston for their kindness, dedication and loving care throughout Jimmy’s stay. We are also thankful for the support and compassionate care provided by the hospice staff at Gentiva.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Phillips Family Cemetery in Trenton.
