James “J.B.” Bernice Langley, 82, of Kinston, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at UNC Lenoir Health Care. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Roy Langley and Gladys Gray Langley, and his wife, Linda Lou Langley.
He retired from DuPont after 26 years and loved spending his time watching old westerns.
J.B. is survived by his wife, Betty Lokey Langley, of the home; daughters, Rita K. Hawkins and husband, Eddie, of Kinston, Patricia Smith Baker and husband, Stewart, of Kinston/Emerald Isle, Sheila Ward and husband, Steve, of Trenton, Joy Long and husband, Eddy, of La Grange, Betty Jo Harrison and husband, Steven, of La Grange, and Bonnie Blue Asher of Kinston; sons, James Langley, Jr. and husband, Chip, of Stokes and Clifton Glenn Huggins and wife, Kari, of La Grange; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeanette Hensley and husband, Ray, of Seymour, TN and Ann Speight and husband, Charles (deceased), of Kinston; special friend, Francis Whitfield, along with many other close family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Pinelawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at his home.
