Jenelle Moore Lilly, of La Grange, NC, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was truly a remarkable woman-a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend-who was, in every sense of the word, a “Superwoman.”
She was the very definition of love, showing through her actions what unconditional love truly means. A devoted family woman, she placed her children and grandchildren at the center of her world. Her grandkids always came first, and she found her greatest joy in being not just their grandmother, but their best friend.
Jenelle cherished life’s simple pleasures-playing bingo and gathering with family for cookouts. Her home and heart were always open, and she loved cooking for everyone, making sure no one ever left hungry or without feeling cared for.
She lived a life of selflessness, always putting the needs of others before her own. She cared deeply for those around her and had a special way of making everyone feel like family. Her kindness, warmth, and giving spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Her favorite sayings, “Don’t tell nobody” and “God bless you,” will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her, bringing both smiles and comfort.
She was truly one of a kind-a woman whose love, strength, and compassion cannot be replaced. Above all, she loved her five children more than anything and dedicated her life to teaching them the true meaning of unconditional love.
Her legacy lives on through the family she nurtured, the love she gave so freely, and the countless lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten.
Jenelle is preceded in death by her husband, Alton Lilly, Sr., parents, Herman and Talsie Moore, sisters, Patsy Ann Moore, Loretta Faye Smith, brother, Guilford (Pedro) Moore, and son, Timothy Martin Taylor.
She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Taylor Wiggins of La Grange, Betina “Tina” Hardison Mozingo (Ray) of Deep Run, sons, Tony Burton Taylor of La Grange, Ted Reed Hardison (Tracey) of La Grange, grandchildren, Toni Nichole Taylor, Tyler Reed Hardison, Britney Christine Wiggins, Hailey Brooke Brafford, Tiffany Blair Mozingo, great-grandchildren, Logan Santmyer, Chase Hardison, Landon Santmyer, Kylie Herring, Brexton Hardison, Greyson Smith, Wesson Touchet, and Talsie Smith, sister, Helen Moore Stevenson of California and sister-in-law, Mary Moore.
