Joseph "Alex" Cannon

Alex Cannon, 71, of Kinston, was born on September 6, 1951, and went to be with Jesus on April 15, 2023 at ECU Health Inpatient Hospice. He was 71 years young.
Alex was born to Floyd and Dixie Cannon. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and cousin Jimmy Mitchell.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Becky Hill; sons, Jamie, Joey, Jerry, and Terry; daughters, Tammy, April, and Amy; grandchildren, Brooke and husband, Seth, Charity and fiancé, Andrew, Rebecca, Kacey and fiancé, Keith, Jacob, Amber, Leighann, Ashton, Makayla, and Sia; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Stella,
 Elijah, Savannah, and Elena.
We would love to take this time to ask you to remember Alex for the laughs and silliness that he would want you all to carry with you. He would also want each and every one of you to not worry about him, because he is in a much better place. He is made whole again and is not in any pain whatsoever. His last words were, “Don’t cry for me, just live life to the fullest and remember the good times we all had together. The next time y’all play cards, cook on the grill, or have a bonfire, remember me and know that I did love each and every one of y’all.”
