Joyce (Tripp) Byrd

Joyce Tripp Byrd, 75, of Kinston passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Magnolia Cottage Care. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Byrd; parents, Carlton Otis Tripp, Sr. and Marie Daniels Tripp; sister, Linda Taylor, and brother-in-law, Raymond Taylor.

Joyce was a registered nurse and was employed by Lenoir County Health Department for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She is survived by her son, Jason Byrd and wife, Paige of Kinston; grandchildren, Christian Jacobs and Zack Byrd; sisters, Judy Morris and husband, Tommy of Silver Springs, MD and Faye Hill and husband, Eddie of Kinston; brother, Carl Tripp and wife, Beth of Greenville; many special nieces and nephews and special friends, Faye Davis, Becky Holmes, Joan Bradshaw, Marion Motsko, Penny Edgeston and her staff, and the staff at Magnolia Cottage Care.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Howard-Carter Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be held Sunday, June 26, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Westview Cemetery with Pastor Steve Roman officiating.
