Joyce Ann (Barfield) Lee

Joyce Ann Barfield Lee, 72, of Kinston passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rolin Lee; son, Ray Lee; parents, Marvin and Melba Barfield, and brothers, Kenneth Barfield and Larry Barfield.

Joyce was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved spending time with her family and attending Kinston First Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was a member. She ministered to nursing homes and served the Lord in any way she could. Joyce enjoyed sitting on the front porch with her husband watching nature, especially the birds, listening to gospel music, and cherished her doll collection given to her by her sons.

She is survived by her sons, Lamon Kennedy and wife, Tammy, of Richlands, Dwight Lee Kennedy and wife, Christy, of Kinston, Bobby Lee and wife, Cindy, of Monks Creek, SC, and Jamie Rolin Lee and wife, Donna, of Snow Hill; grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew, John, Michael, Mason, Zackary, Connor, Jonathan, Elijah, and Daniel; four great-grandchildren, and sisters, Bonnie Lou McLawhorn, Ruby Kaye Phillips, and Lynette Ipock.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Howard-Carter Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 with a funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Chris Rooks officiating. Burial will be immediately after at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
