On February 16th, 2021, Karen Lynn Mobley passed away peacefully at Kitty Askins surrounded by her husband and daughter. Karen was born in Lenoir County on June 14, 1963 and has always been a strong and compassionate person. No matter where life led her, she always found ways to pour love into the lives of those around her. Her compassion for others was evident in her daily life; as was her faith in God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Leon Seymour and Annie Antwine Potter and brothers, Jesse, James, Charlie, Jimmy, and Mike.
Karen is survived by her husband, James Mobley; daughter, Samantha Byrd, and Samantha’s significant other, Daniel Akyeampong; sisters, Lucille Hooker, Dinah Wilson and husband, Doug, Patsy Joyner and husband, Dale, Jean Rose, Sue Dreves, and April Bailey; brother, Buddy Potter, and many nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home at 1608 West Vernon Ave. in Kinston, with funeral following at 2:00pm. A private burial will follow at a later date. It is requested that social distancing be practiced, and masks worn.
In lieu of flowers, Karen requested that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
