Kelly Marie (Bright) Velazquez

Kelly Marie Bright Velazquez, 46, of Seven Springs, NC, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at her home in Seven Springs. She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Sandy Bright; grandparents, Jeannette Nalbone, Vincenzo Nalbone, Ruth Hudson, and Simon Parrott Bright Sr.

Kelly was a loving mother, devoted family member, and a woman whose kindness touched everyone who knew her. She deeply loved her children and cherished the time she spent with them, whether it was fishing together, traveling near and far, or simply enjoying life’s everyday moments.

She was known for her big heart and her genuine enjoyment in helping others. Independent and determined, Kelly took pride in doing things her own way, including remodeling her own home. She had a creative spirit and found joy in crocheting, painting, and drawing, always expressing herself through art and craftsmanship.

Family meant everything to her, and she loved cooking for those she cared about-her lasagna was a favorite that brought everyone together. She enjoyed walking, exploring new places, and making memories wherever she went.

Kelly had a fun and unique personality. She loved Elvis and Betty Boop, enjoyed clothes and personal style, and especially looked forward to Halloween, her favorite holiday. The movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas held a special place in her heart and reflected her playful spirit.

Above all, Kelly will be remembered for her love, generosity, strength, and creativity. Her legacy lives on through the family she adored and the many lives she touched with her warmth and compassion.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Kelly is survived by her partner, Rogelio Cruz; parents, Simon “Buck” Parrott Bright, Jr. (Ann Harper) and Regina Bright of Seven Springs; daughter, Ana Cruz, of Albertson; sons, Juan Velazquez (Grace Froman) of Deep Run, Vinny Cruz, and Ethan Cruz of Seven Springs; sisters, Hope Wolfe (Tim) of Goldsboro, Misty Clough (Adam) of Seven Springs, and Crystal Williamson (Todd) of Cape Coral, Florida; brothers; JB Bright (Tanya) of Deep Run, Scooter (Carolyn) of Deep Run, Josh Bright (girlfriend, Kelly) of Seven Springs, Chunk Bright of Seven Springs, Buck Bright (Danielle) of Goldsboro, Eric Bright (Colleen) of Washington, and Justin Bright (Gulsah) of Mt. Olive, along with many nieces and nephews.

A service of love and remembrance will be held at Howard-Carter Funeral Home on Thursday, January 22 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Gerald Fowler officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m., prior to the service. Family will also receive friends at other times at the home of her mother, Regina Bright. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Pineview Cemetery in Seven Springs, NC.
