Leslie Earl Rouse, Jr.

Leslie Earl Rouse, Jr., age 67, of Kinston, NC, passed away on May 13, 2025, at his home. Surrounded by his family, Leslie left his earthly burdens behind. He was born in Lenoir County on April 12, 1958, to the late Leslie Earl Rouse, Sr. and Della Smith Rouse.

A graduate of North Lenoir High School, Les, went on to become a successful farmer in Lenoir County.

A man of many interests, Les loved to travel out west. He loved spending time at Cayden Lake. He taught his children and grandchildren how to swim. He could often be found at festivals and celebrations. Chocolates and sweets were his guilty pleasure. Les was always known as the “Life of the party”. Dancing and having a good time were a part of who he was. A social butterfly at heart, he never met a stranger.

Les loved music. Because of his love for life, he enjoyed many different genres of music. His favorites were blues, jazz, and rock.

Many times, you could find Les hanging out in his mancave. A place where only friends and family were welcomed.

Friends and neighbors could always depend on Les for a helping hand. Les was a very generous man who loved to help others in any way that he could.

Above all, Les loved to spend time with his family and friends. A man that loved his family dearly, he thrived off spoiling his children and grandchildren.

Les is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Della Rouse.

He is survived by his lovely wife, Denise Rouse, daughter; Brandi Hardison (Colby) of Kinston, sons; Chris Rouse (Vicki) of Greenville, Josh Rouse (Shannon) of Okemos, Michigan, grandchildren; Cayden, Charlie, Archer, Della, and Abbott, sister; Jane Rouse (Frances) of Raleigh, fur-baby, Ruby, and many beloved “cuzzans” and special friends.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 16, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at 902 Church, in Kinston, with Pastor Ryan Vernon officiating. Visitation will follow the service in the fellowship hall. The family request that you come as you are.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to 902 Church, 2009 Carey Rd. Kinston, NC 28501.
