Linda King Hill
September 28, 1943 – January 6, 2026
Heaven gained a beautiful soul on January 6, 2026, as Linda King Hill was lovingly called home at the age of 82. Born on September 28, 1943, to Hal Hoke King and Kathleen Parker King, Linda lived a life marked by love, grace, and faithful devotion to her family and friends. Though her absence is deeply felt, we rejoice in knowing she is now reunited with her parents, Hoke and Kathleen King; her brother, Jan King; and her sister, Anne King Turner.
Linda found peace in life’s simple moments. She cherished time spent at the river and along the coast, enjoyed traveling, and valued quiet evenings with a good glass of wine and heartfelt conversation. She also enjoyed coloring and crafting and treasured time spent with her grandchildren. Some of her most cherished days were spent on the family farm - sitting on the back porch, watching the sunset, and taking in the beauty of God’s creation - reflecting the calm and steady presence she was to all who knew her.
Throughout her career, Linda worked in several roles, spending many years with Harvey Inc. before later retiring from the Lenoir County Cooperative Extension Office. As a secretary and administrative assistant, she was known for her kindness, reliability, and servant’s heart.
Above all, Linda cherished her family, who were her greatest joy. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved, along with her cherished little dog, Rocky.
Linda is survived by her sons, Lee Hill (Michelle) and Chris Hill (Rachael); her grandchildren, Justin Hill (Jessica), Kaci Turner (Josh), Daniel Hill (Michelle), Brett Hill (Brianna), and Chloe Hill; her brother, Andrew Hoke “Andy” King (Marlo); and her sister-in-law, Lisa King. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. Linda was further blessed with devoted friends, Bobbi Swindell and Diane White, whose love, support, and faithful friendship meant the world to her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, with Pastor Ryan Vernon officiating. Visitation will follow the service. A private family burial will take place at a later time.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Magnolia Cottage and 3HC for the love, compassion, and care shown to her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in her honor to Magnolia Cottage Care, 5643 US 70, Dover, NC 28526.
