Linwood G. Johnson

Linwood G. Johnson, 73, of Grifton passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the North Carolina State VA Home in Kinston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Dorothy McCoy Johnson and brother, Dennis Johnson.

Linwood was a loving husband of 27 years, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He appreciated the outdoors, where he enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. He loved spending time with his family and friends and raising Beagles for rabbit hunting. Linwood was always willing to help others and will be truly missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Koonce Johnson, of the home; sons, Chris Johnson and William Johnson; stepchildren, Eric Holton and Amy Wells; ten grandchildren, Karlie, Rylie, Natalie, Olivia, Brandon, Wesley, Aylish, Adam, Alex, and Paul; brothers, Mark Johnson and Andy Johnson and many other friends and family.

A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 am on Monday, May10, 2021 at Sharon United Methodist Church, 4061 Sharon Church Rd, Kinston NC, 28501.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, 1701 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699-1700.
