Lisa Rebecca (Strickland) Thornton

Lisa Rebecca Strickland Thornton, 57, passed away on Thursday, September 22nd 2022, at Wayne UNC Healthcare. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph “Slick” Strickland and Rebecca Harris Strickland.

Lisa was a loving wife, stepmother, sister, step-grandmother, and friend. She was employed at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed making memories, especially cooking and Christmas shopping. She loved helping others and had a giving heart, always putting others before herself. She was loved by all and will be missed by many.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Danny Thornton, stepdaughter Dana Whaley and husband Tommy of Louisburg, stepson, David Thornton and fiancé Samantha of Pikeville, step grandchildren Gabriel, Hannah and Mason, brothers Joe Strickland and wife Tammy of Greenville, Spencer Strickland and wife Christi of Deep Run; special nieces and nephews, Dylan Strickland, Brad Strickland and fiancée, Harley Myers, Haley Strickland, Justin Strickland, and Jamie Wetherington, and many other close family and friends.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 27th, 2022 at 6:00pm at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with visitation to follow. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, at Pinelawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Kinston, NC.
