Lois (Howard) King

Lois Howard King, 95, of Kinston, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Never too busy to lend a helping hand, Lois spent her entire life putting others’ needs before her own. In her later years, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The wisdom and unconditional love that she shared with her family and friends will be with us always.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Frances Tyndall Howard and Clarence Howard, and her husband, Lawrence Sloan King.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Tanis King Wilder and husband, Nelson; granddaughter, Jana Wilder Miller and husband, Curtis; grandson, William Nelson Wilder, Jr. and wife, Jessica; great-grandsons, Noah Sloan Miller, William Nelson Wilder, III, and Chandler Wells Wilder.

The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Magnolia Cottage for the wonderful care and compassion that she received daily.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Westview Cemetery in Kinston.
