Lois Hollamon Thigpen, 80, of Kinston, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023 at ECU Medical Center, Greenville, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Talmadge and Ruth Hudson Hollamon.
Lois was a faithful member of Kinston First Pentecostal Holiness Church. She always had her family surrounding her with a beautiful smile for everyone. Lois enjoyed cooking, shopping and traveling. Most of all, Lois enjoyed being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lois was married for 62 years to her husband and best friend, Norman Harrell Thigpen and they were the parents of three daughters, whom they adored; Renee Thigpen Best and husband, Marty of Kinston, Crystal Thigpen Davis and husband, Jack of Kinston, and Melissa Thigpen Alcock and husband, Travis of LaGrange; grandchildren, Derek Sutton and friend Amber Faulk, Amber Best James and husband, Brandon, Brittany Wallace and friend Houston Blake, Joshua Wallace and wife, Rachel, Jared Wallace and friend Gracie Hinnant, Hailey Alcock, Connor Alcock, Reese Alcock, Stephanie Best, Melanie Davis, Dylan Davis, Lauren Davis; she was proud of her great-grandchildren as well; Miranda Brock and husband, Evan, Kaden Sutton, Everhett James, Holland James, Harbor Blake, Leah Faulk, Emersyn Faulk, Blake Crawford, and Cora Crawford; brothers, Gerald Hollamon and wife, Jo Ann and Carrol Hollamon and wife, Diane, sister Debbie Epps and husband, Lynn and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 11, 2023 at 6:00 pm at Kinston First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Pastor Brian Rogers officiating. Visitation will follow the service and other times at the home. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11:00 am at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kinston First Pentecostal Holiness Church or Lenoir County Relay for Life. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and other staff at ECU Medical Center for the loving care provided to our precious mother over the past several weeks.
