Lucille Hunnings Tripp

Lucille Hunnings Tripp, 96, of Kinston passed away, on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at home. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Lucille loved her First Pentecostal Holiness Church family. She enjoyed singing in the choir, helping, and praying for others before herself.  Lucille was loved by many and will be missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her father, Coley Hunnings and her mother, Lacy Hardison Hunnings; husband, Cecil Eugene "John" Tripp; sister, Layuna Hunnings Butcher; and brother, Tommy Hunnings.  Lucille is survived by her daughters, Becky Meeks and husband Tommy of Kinston and Jackie Tripp Phillippe of Wilmington; son; John Terry “Pete” Tripp of Sneads Ferry; grandchildren, Dayna Snowden and husband Chris, Michael Meeks and wife Kristine, Kari Vick and husband Tim, Lisa Burleson and husband Rob; great-grandchildren Taylor Snowden, Trey and Grace Burleson, Leighton and Thomas Meeks, Londyn, Tripp and Tanner Vick and many other special family and friends.

The family would like to thank her caretaker, Shelby Craft, for her wonderful care while working with Lucille.

Visitation will be held at Howard-Carter Funeral Home in Kinston on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 10:00 am and funeral to follow at 11:00am. There will be a private burial at a later date.
