Luther King Daughety

Luther King Daughety, 70, of Kinston, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.B. Daughety, Jr. and Margaret Wilson Daughety, brother, A.B. Daughety III, and sister, Susan Daughety.

Luther was a wonderful brother, uncle, and friend. He had a giving heart and delighted in taking care of his family and friends. He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church and enjoyed attending house church meetings on Wednesday nights. He was a graduate of Grainger High School and enjoyed fishing, watching Carolina basketball, and listening to praise and worship music. He was a real ladies’ man, and his personality could brighten anyone’s day. He never met a stranger and was a loyal friend to all he knew. The world has lost a loving soul, but Heaven has gained a true angel.

He is survived by his sister, Betsy Hobbs and husband, Alton; nieces, Allyson Daughety, Deana Layden, and Wendi Mendez; nephews, Seth Hobbs and wife, LaToya, and A.B. Daughety IV and wife, Tracy, along with many other close family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2022 at Westview Cemetery.
