Lydia Diane Nunn Johnson Harrell

Lydia Diane Nunn Johnson Harrell, 71, of Kinston, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Greendale Forest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Stephen Nunn and Helen Hocutt Nunn Gardner; sister, Barbara Grady Gray, and brother, David Allen Nunn.

Diane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was known amongst her family as a peacemaker. She worked as a teacher’s assistant at Lenoir County Public Schools for 30+ years. She was loved by all and will be truly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Ernest “Ernie” Harrell, of the home; daughter, Lori J. Bryan and husband, Joey, of Kinston; sons, Charlie Johnson of Greenville and Christopher Harrell and partner, Kevin Cummins, of Florida; grandchildren, Michael Stone and wife, Jenny, and special granddog, J.J.; brothers, Michael Nunn of Martinsburg, WV, Henry Stephen Nunn and wife, Ada, of Wilmington, and Gary Hocutt and wife, Annette, of Atlantic Beach; sisters, Sandra Noble and husband, Joe, of Deep Run, Charlene White and husband, Bill, of New Bern; sister-in-law, Rebecca Nunn of Kinston, and many other special nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Marty Greer officiating. Burial will follow the service at Westview Cemetery.
