Margaret Ann Turner

Margaret Ann Burkett Turner, 81, of Kinston, passed away on September 16, 2024, at her home.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Turner, Sr; parents, Clarence Burkett and Etta Burkett; brothers, Willie Burkett and Floyd Burkett and great-grandson, Noah Stroud.

Margaret was raised on a farm in Jones County, NC.   She was no stranger to hard work but had the enjoyment of life at its finest in her younger years on the farm.  She had the joy of having a large family with nine brothers and sisters.  Her sisters loved her dearly, looking at her as such a caring and loving sister.  They all never ceased to let that be known.

Margaret was a wonderful wife.  She took care of her husband tirelessly to the very end of his life and she was a wonderful mother, grandma and great grandma.  She was a beautiful person with a beautiful heart.

We will leave all in God’s hands knowing our Father will only give us what is good for us.  She will be missed, leaving sorrow in all our hearts.  Our lives will change forever.

She is survived by her daughters, Denise Pratt, Tammy Gay and husband, Burton Gay; son, Bobby Lee Turner, Jr. and girlfriend, Paula Branch; grandchildren, Tiffany Warren, Matthew Warren, Whaley Stroud and wife, Heather, Justin Stroud and wife, Kaitlyn and Bobby Turner III; great grandchildren, Gadson Stroud, Hudson Stroud, Morgan Stroud, Mary-Rachel Stroud; Jade Bradsher Warren, Lexi Bradsher Warren, Mia Gaskins, Kaira Warren, Cayden Turner; sisters, Mittie Pike, Faye Diaz, Maude Turner, Marie Lewis, Sadie Davis, Jean Taylor and brother, Wesley Burkett.

Margaret was loved by all and will be missed very much.

Services will be Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm followed by memorial service at 2:00 pm.
