Marilyn Faye (Byrd) Faulkner

Marilyn Faye Byrd Faulkner, 84, of Grifton, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at ECU Health Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerald Oliver; second husband, Rayburn Faulkner; sisters, Lorna Merritt, Louise Merritt, Betty Stroud, and Shirley B. Hardison; and brothers, Billy Byrd and James Byrd.

Marilyn was quick-witted and straight forward. She loved working with plants, gardening, spending time with friends, spending time and going on trips with her sisters, and hosting family holiday celebrations.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Steven Oliver and wife, Kristi, of Pink Hill; stepsons, Chip Faulkner and wife, Melissa, of Cary, and Ryan Faulkner of Atlanta; grandson, Everett Oliver; step-grandchildren, Ian Faulkner and Jake Faulkner, along with many other close family members and friends.

The family would like to thank ECU Neurosurgery, Neuro ICU, and ECU Palliative Care for their care and expertise, along with EMS and UNC Lenoir Health Care for urgent care.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Reverend John Jones officiating.
