Marlene Joyce (Franklin) Aldridge

Marlene Joyce Franklin Aldridge was received into her Heavenly home on November 3, 2024. She was born in Lenoir County to the late Charles Robert Franklin, Sr. and Thelma Josephine Conner on May 16, 1938. In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John Julian Aldridge, Jr., and daughter, Beth Aldridge Oliver.

Marlene retired from Caswell Center after decades of service. With a dedication to her church and her Lord, Marlene was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

A service of remembrance will be held by the graveside at Pinelawn Memorial Park on November 9, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Allen Ham officiating.

Marlene is survived by her son, John J. Aldridge, III and wife, Jenny of Garner; grandchildren, Robert A. Oliver, Jr of Greenville, Melissa Steele (Scott) of Buford, GA, and John J. Aldridge IV (Bethany) of Charlotte; two great-grandchildren, Abigail Beth Steele and Charlie Julian Aldridge; son-in-law, Bob Oliver of Swansboro and her special friend and canine companion, Cali Roxanne Oliver.  

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lights of Love UNC Health Lenoir, 100 Airport Rd., Kinston, NC 28503.
