Marshall Bryant Whitfield, Jr., 65, of Kinston passed away on March 7, 2025, at The Service League of Greenville Hospice House.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Marshall “Dude” Bryant Whitfield, Sr. and JoAnn Daugherty Whitfield; daughter Alicen Forrester Whitfield; aunt, Forrestine Riggs; four-legged companion Izzy; and nephew and friend, Whit Connor.

Marshall is survived by his daughter, Hailee Shrock and husband, Johnathan; granddaughter Emma Cannon Shrock; lifetime friends, Glenn Spence and Morris “Gopher” Manning; aunt, Sylvia Anders; and his many loving cousins.

Graveside service will be held at Pinelawn Memorial Park on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Allen Ham officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his granddaughter, Emma, to the “Emma Cannon Shrock College Fund” to one day provide assistance with her college education; made payable to “Emma Shrock” and mail to Hailee Shrock at 1411 Gold Leaf Dr., Winterville, NC  28590.  Please include your contact information with your memorial.
