Mary Evelyn (Howard) Stroud

Mary Evelyn Howard Stroud was born on February 15, 1942 to Harold and Evelyn Howard in Pink Hill, NC. She died peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. Mary knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She grew up attending Christian Chapel Church where she loved to use her God gifted talent as a skilled pianist.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband, William Paul Stroud of Deep Run, NC; children Rhonda Griffin and husband Jeb of Kinston, NC, Myra Smith and husband Danny of Kinston, NC; grandchildren Lauren Champion of Kinston, NC, Jebbi Griffin of Charlotte, NC, Kristen Alphin and husband Jacob of LaGrange, NC, Kayla Smith and husband Brian of Raleigh, NC, Kelsey Potter of Kinston, NC, Melissa Manning of Kinston, NC, and Danny Smith, Jr. and wife Chasity of Kinston, NC. Great grandchildren; Jaiden and Evelyn Champion, Wade and Miles Alphin, Harrison and Claire Smith, Allison and Lindsey Manning, Woods and Harbor Smith. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis Howard of Greensboro, NC.

Mary is preceded in death by her loving parents, Harold and Evelyn Howard and her two brothers, Douglas Harold Howard and Donald Earl Howard of Pink Hill, NC.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, February 10th. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 pm at Christian Chapel Church, 1213 Jonestown Rd. Pink Hill, NC followed by a service of remembrance. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park, 985 NC-11, Pink Hill, NC.
