Mary Catherine Distefano Obituary

Mary Catherine Distefano, 64, previously of Topeka, Kansas passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport. She was very artistic and enjoyed music and writing stories for children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dexell and Lottie Joyce Herring and Richard Kerley, and baby girl, Kelly.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Robert Distefano; daughter, Amanda Jarman Chase and husband, Kevin, of Richlands; grandchildren, Skyler Ingram, Mason Chase, and Hailey Frye; sisters, Ramona Jones and husband, Freddie, of Kinston, Sandra Minch and husband, Kenneth, of Greenville; Glenda Letchworth and husband, Curtis, Brenda Sparrow and husband, Clifton, Linda Huggins and husband, Johnny, and Sandra Outlaw; and brothers, Edward Herring and Samuel Herring and wife, Lisa.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House, 100 Big Rock Way, Newport, NC 28570.
