Matthew Christopher Warren, 38, of Kinston, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at his home. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carrie Elizabeth Warren and Vernon Woodrow Warren and by his maternal grandparents, Bobby Lee Turner and Margaret Ann Turner.
Matthew is survived by his mother, Denise Pratt; father and stepmother, Richard and Robin Warren; sister, Tiffany Warren; two daughters, Jade and Lexi Bradsher Warren whom he loved with all of his heart; two nieces, Mia Gaskins and Kaira Warren whom he loved dearly; special aunt, Tammy Gay and husband Burton Gay; uncle, Bobby Turner, Jr. and girlfriend Paula Branch; aunt, Janet Hignite and husband Darryl; uncle, Vernon Ray Warren and wife Wanda; aunt, Shirley Mewborn and husband Charles; great aunts, Maude Turner who was special to him, Mittie Pike, Marie Lewis, Sadie Davis, Jean Taylor, Faye Diaz; cousins, Bobby Turner III whom Matthew loved dearly and his son Cayden, Whaley Stroud and wife Heather and their children, Gadson and Hudson, Justin Stroud and wife Kaitlyn and their children, Morgan and Mary-Rachel, Lisa and Russel Lewis, Debbie Covert and husband Charles and their daughter Whitney, Michelle Toler and husband Donnie, Keith Hignite and wife Misti, Darren Hignite and wife Laura, Amie Smith and husband Allen, Tyler Warren and wife Stephanie; and special friend, David Clayton who was like a brother to him.
Matthew was a sweet soul who loved his Lord dearly and studied and read his Bible. He also had a passion for his family. Matthew loved kayaking, camping, fishing, and being outdoors. He loved the peacefulness of the outdoors. Matthew always said that he felt closer to God and was able to talk to God when outdoors. He had a special dog, Ava, who brought much joy and happiness to his life.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home.
