Obituary

Michael Wayne Lane, 67, of Dover, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at UNC Lenoir Healthcare.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Gatha Wayne, and Orethia Griffin Lane; daughter, Tonya Rose Lane; son, Kevin Michael Lane, sister Rose Marie Lane; brothers, James Douglas Lane, Harry David Smith.

He was a great father, uncle, and a friend to all.  He enjoyed his work as a farmer and was willing to help wherever he was needed. 

Michael is survived by his daughter, Kristen Michelle Patterson and husband, Daniel of New Bern; granddaughters, Adaline Marie Patterson of New Bern, Rachel Sue Lane of LaGrange; grandson, Riley Samuel Herring of LaGrange; sisters, Vivian Gail Ormond of Mt. Olive, Wendy Harrison and husband, Rodney of Lumberton; brother, Phillip Londay Smith III and wife, Peggy of Dover and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at a later date.
