Nettie "Florence" (Davis) Braswell

Nettie “Florence" Davis Braswell, 89, of Grifton, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Harmony Hall. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Stella Davis, and siblings, Leon Davis, Louise Smith, and baby Harvey Davis.

Florence was married to J. Vernon Braswell for 70 years. She served as a devoted and passionate Sunday School teacher for 65 years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, J. Vernon Braswell of Grifton; daughter, Denise Huff (Gerard) of Wilson; sons, Vernon Lamar Braswell (Vicki) of Kinston and Ivan Braswell (Penny) of Grifton; grandchildren, Emily Hooker (Sean), Sarah Huff, Alice Huff, April Lee (Daniel), Jordan Braswell (Kia), Daniel Hill (Kaitlyn), and Andrew Braswell; great-grandchildren, Kai Hooker, Gideon Hooker, Luke Hill, Gabriel Hill, Kayleigh Hill, Natalie Hill, Danny Hill, and Reid Lee; brother, James B. Davis of Smithfield, and many other close family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Hugo Free Will Baptist Church, with funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Princeton Cemetery.
