March 15, 1944 – October 1, 2025
Norman Earl Rouse, 81, of Kinston, went to be with his Lord and Savior, peacefully, on the morning of October 1, 2025.
He served a tour in the U.S. Air Force in various positions, including as an AP. Once out of service he worked as a trucker, long-term crane operator with T&H Electric that kept him traveling and was last employed as a courier for a medical supply company.
When Norman was not working to support his family, he thoroughly enjoyed and valued spending quality time on the water (any water) fishing with family and friends, in the woods hunting, or at the pit/cooker cooking a pig for those he loved.
Norman was preceded in death by his father, Leonard N. “Bud” Rouse, and his mother, Nancy Geneva White Rouse. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce White Rouse, his sons, Earl Rouse (Barbara) and David Rouse (Tracy) (all of Lakeland, Florida), and Jimmy Loren White (Paula) (of Goldsboro, North Carolina) and grandchildren: Alicia (Brittni), Lauren (Nick), Lilly, Norman, Emily, Jessica, Brandon, John, and David, and great-grandsons, Bret and Logan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Gentiva Hospice (https://app.etapestry.com/onlineforms/GentivaFoundation/GHS.html), 115 Airport Rd, Kinston, NC 28501, in gratitude for their excellent care and service to Norman during his last month or so. The family is so thankful and appreciative of all the nurses, doctors, and staff at Gentiva that helped Norman and the family through this time.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Howard-Carter Funeral Home (1608 W Vernon Ave, Kinston, NC 28504), with a funeral service at 1:00 p.m., followed by internment at Pinelawn Memorial Park (4488 US-70, Kinston, NC 28504).
Chaplain Seth Jones, of Gentiva, will be officiating.
