Norwood (Mickey) Jackson Kennedy Sr.

Norwood “Mickey” Jackson Kennedy, Sr., 89, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 8th, at Carolina East Medical Center with his family by his side. Mickey was born on October 15, 1935, in Duplin County to Bland and Julie Kennedy.

He and his beloved wife, Carol, were set to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on June 25th.

Mickey loved his Lord Jesus Christ and his beloved family. He was a faithful and long-time member of Pilgrim Home FWB Church serving as a deacon for 53 years.

Mickey worked with Barrus Construction for over 47 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Mickey Kennedy, Jr; great-granddaughter Hannah, brother, James Kennedy, and sister Betty Mohn.

Mickey is survived by his wife, Carol Tucker Kennedy; daughters Diane Heath (Kendall) and Wanda Sue Mills (Ken); son Henry Kennedy (Carla); grandchildren; Brandon Mills (Jeannie) Kristal Riska (Caleb), Christopher Heath, Blake Mills (Iris), Kelly Kennedy and Michael Matthews; great-grandchildren, Ashton Heath, Lexy Heath, William Heath, Joshua Heath, Paisley Mills, Jackson Mills, and Lily Riska; his sisters, Marie Foye, and Dottie Swinson; brother Lynwood (Dinky) Kennedy.

A celebration service will be held on Monday, May 12th, at 6:00 PM at Pilgrim Home FWB Church in Dover with visitation following the service. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 13th at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pilgrim Home FWB Church, 3149 Tilghman Rd, Dover, NC 28526.
