Pearlie Frizzelle Davenport, 86, of Kinston, went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2020, at Spring Arbor of Kinston. She was born in Greene County on November 25, 1933, to Jesse R. and Mandie S. Frizzelle.
Pearlie liked to keep busy and enjoyed working in her yard, taking care of her family and traveling. She especially loved her 40 years of service volunteering at Lenoir Memorial Hospital and working with the youth at Northwest Christian Church. Her grandchildren were a special joy for her.
Pearlie is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Kenneth E. Davenport of Kinston, her daughter Jewel D. Eason and husband John of Wake Forest; 3 grandchildren: Charleigh E. Funderburk and husband David of Wake Forest, Ashleigh E. Eason and husband Jakub Čunát of Raleigh, and John Derek Eason II of Wake Forest; 6 Funderburk great grandchildren: Lillian, Olivia, Emmeline, Abigail, Elizabeth and Kaitlyn; 2 sisters: Shirley F. Hamm and Jessie F. Hawkins both of Lenoir County; 3 sisters-in-law: Mary D. Smith, Becky D. Hardison and Deborah D. Owens of Deep Run; and many special nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Marshall Frizzelle and sister Ida F. Skaggs.
Graveside services will be held at Westview Cemetery in Kinston at 1 PM on April 21, 2020.
