Peggy Jean (Waters) Jones

Peggy Jean Waters Jones, born November 5, 1954, in Kinston, North Carolina, passed away on April 21, 2025, at ECU Health in Greenville. Peggy brought energy and spirit to every room she entered. She enjoyed eating out, traveling, yard work, the thrill of gambling and the joy of spending time with her loved ones.

She was a dedicated employee at Harvey Fertilizer & Gas Company, where she worked faithfully as an account clerk for 43 years. Peggy’s strong work ethic and devotion made a lasting impact on her coworkers.

Peggy is preceded in death by her beloved parents, John and Earlene Waters, sister, Glenda Hines and brother-in-law, Henry Hines. 

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Lisa Wollett, and son-in-law, Justin Wollett. She was the proud and loving Mimi to Hadley Faye Wollett, who brought immense joy to her life.  She is also survived by her brother, Edward Waters and sister-in-law, Debra Waters.

Services to honor Peggy’s life will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. A graveside service will take place immediately after at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Peggy will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her unwavering dedication to family and work, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
