Phyllis Albritton Martin, 73, of 1107 Margaret Lane in Kinston died Thursday, January 14, 2021 at her home.
Phyllis retired after 30 years of service with Sprint as a Communications Consultant. She was an active member of Westminster United Methodist Church and loved being a part of the Ageless Wonders. She was an active member of the Salvation Army’s Ladies’ Auxiliary, the Home Gardeners’ Garden Club, The Red Cross, and her wonderful cardiac rehab group at the Minges Wellness Center which she attended for more than 20 years. She loved having lunch on Wednesdays with her beloved “Lunch Bunch,” made up of her classmates from the Grainger High School class of ’65. She loved her time spent in her flower garden. She enjoyed painting, giving a party, and most of all decorating for all holidays.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her mother, Susie Albritton Stroud; father, Fred Lee Albritton; stepfather, Lonnie C. Stroud, and brothers, James O. Albritton, Billy C. Albritton, and Frederick J. Albritton.
Survivors include her husband, Titus M. Martin, Jr.; her beloved son, Titus M. Martin III (“Trey”); sisters, Ann A. Hill and husband, Roger, of Wilmington and Sue A. Bartholomew and husband, Russell, of Kinston; sister-in-law, Gail M. Flowers of Raleigh, and brother-in-law, Tim Martin of Plantation, FL. She also has many special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Phyllis also leaves behind her many friends that have meant so much to her.
A private burial service will be held in the Memorial Garden at Westminster U.M.C. at a later date.
