Preston Eugene Rouse

Preston Eugene Rouse, 72 of Kinston passed away at Lenoir Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. Preston was born on March 25, 1949 to the late John Pierce Rouse and Nettie Hoyle Rouse Gibble. A lifelong resident of North Carolina, with the majority of his life being lived in Pollocksville, New Bern and Kinston mostly. 

Preston enjoyed old antique cars, listening to the “oldie but goodies” of country music and watching old western movies and shows. He spent many years in the trucking industry and traveled the states. He had a special love for the mountains of Tennessee, Colorado and Wyoming. Preston was a loving, caring and giving man who would give the shirt off his back if he believed you truly needed it. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved all of his children and grandchildren. 

Preston is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Betty Ann Rouse. He also leaves behind two children and two grandchildren and his great grandchildren. His son, Justin Rouse and wife Heather and son Kamden. His daughter, Melissa Mitchell and wife Michelle Mitchell, her son Hunter Whitaker and his wife Jessica. Preston leaves behind many beloved family members whom he cherished and several special friends. 

Family, friends and others, whose lives Preston touched, are respectfully invited to graveside services Saturday October 30, 2021 at Greenleaf Memorial Park, 900 River Rd. New Bern NC at 2pm to reminisce, grieve and support each other and celebrate the life of Preston.
