Raymond Paul "Butch" Rouse, Jr.

Raymond Paul “Butch” Rouse, Jr. 67, of Kinston, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Rouse, Sr. and Delphry Dawson Rouse, and sister, Paula Hayes.

Butch was a loving husband, father, papa, brother, and friend. He was an avid fisherman, legendary hunter, and known to many as a horse whisperer. He enjoyed computer games, spending time with his grandchildren, and always put his family first. He was loved by all and will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Susie Howell Rouse, of the home; daughter, Billie Jones and husband, Matt; son, Jake Rouse and wife, April; grandchildren, Rylee Jones, Madelyn Jones, Brianna Rouse and fiancé, Will Sherbert, Haley Rouse, Cody Rouse, Colton Rouse, and Cade Rouse; great-grandchild, Ivy Sherbert; siblings, Sylvia Bryant, Debra Lanier and husband, Pete, Pam Herring and husband, Donnie, and Clifton Rouse; brother-in-law, Earnest “Boo” Hayes, and many other special family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022 at White Oak Grove Church with visitation to follow. Informal attire is to be worn at the family’s request.
