Richard Elmore Wade, 76, of Kinston, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Clemmie Wade, brother, Prentice Wade; and sister, Shelia Bond. Survivors include his wife of the home, Deborah Taylor Wade; daughter, Christy Wade Brown and boyfriend, Shane Lee; brother, Raymond Wade and wife Sonoko; and sister, Elizabeth McNeil and husband, Odell.
Richard was a man who found joy in the simple things in life. He loved fishing and could often be found enjoying the peacefulness of the water. Cooking was another passion of his, and he took pride in preparing meals for those he cared about. Richard also enjoyed spending time with his friends, especially when it involved shooting pool and participating in tournaments.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Richard worked diligently to provide for his family. He deeply valued the time he spent with them, especially cherishing moments with his daughter, Christy, who meant the world to him.
Richard had a small circle of friends, but beyond that circle, was his best friends, his dogs, Muffin, Chloe, and BB, who were his constant companions.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, his dedication to his family, and the quiet joy he found in everyday moments.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Cecil McNeil officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
