Robert Lee Reaves

Robert Lee Reaves, 86, of Kinston, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at UNC Lenoir Health Care. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Griffin Reaves; father, Johnnie J. Reaves; mother, Ethel Jones Reaves, and brother, James “Dick” Reaves.

Robert served his country in the Army National Guard for 34 years and later retired from Barrus Construction Company after over 40 years of service. He was a member of Revival Mission Church, where he served as Deacon.

He is survived by his brothers-in-law, Eugene Griffin and Obed Griffin of Trenton; sisters-in-law, Mavis Harrell of James City, Sandra Martnes of Kinston, Amanda Howard of Kinston, and Rita Barrow of La Grange; his beloved canine companion, Wrinkles, and several special nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
