Roger Simpson Goodman

Roger Simpson Goodman, 87, of Dover, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. He is preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mae Goodman, his parents, Willie Odell Goodman and Mattie Harper Goodman, brother, Henry Goodman and wife Janelle. He is survived by his daughter, Jo Goodman of Dover and his nephew, Roger M. Goodman of Greensboro and wife Michelle.

Roger proudly served his country in the United States Army, a time in his life that reflected his dedication and strength of character.

He enjoyed life’s simple blessings. He loved spending time playing cards, sharing laughs and memories with family and friends. He also loved his chewing tobacco.

Above all else, Roger dearly loved his daughter, who meant the world to him. He will be remembered for his love of family, his laid-back spirit, and the many moments shared with those who knew him best.

Graveside services will be held on 11:00 on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Westview Cemetery with pastor John Nobles officiating.
