Ronald Mann Obituary

Ronald Caviness Mann, 73, of Kinston, North Carolina was born September 20, 1947 and passed away in Longview, Texas on the evening of January 4, 2021 surrounded by his wife and daughter. Ronald was diagnosed in July 2020 with Pancreatic Cancer. His journey since the diagnosis was a walk in the park until just after Christmas when God decided it was time to bring Ronald home with Him to Heaven.

Ronald was born in Apex, North Carolina where he helped run his family’s farm until he was old enough to start driving a semi-truck. Once he got his license, Ronald drove a semi-truck for roughly 40 years. In July 2005, he was married to Susan and in August 2006 he adopted Morgan. In 2005, Ronald became the owner and operator of his company RCM Debris, LLC that was operated out of Fayetteville, North Carolina. When Ronald wasn’t working, he was at home tinkering around the house, enjoying time with family, or having fun at NASCAR races.

He was a Godly man and an active member of Rivermont Baptist Church. He served as a deacon as well as serving as chairman of the deacons. He participated in the multi-media team. He took an active role, including serving on the transportation committee. He also participated in church activities when he was not working.

Ronald’s character was like no other. He was the type of person to make sure if you needed something, he found a way to help you out. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.

Ronald is preceded in death by his father, Leonard Caviness Mann; brother, Terry Mann and son, Ronald Caviness Mann Jr. Ronald is survived by his wife, Susan Firnstahl Mann; daughter, Morgan Mann Grant and husband, Seth O. Grant of Longview, Texas; his mother, Mary Hudson Oliver; brothers, Tim Mann, Mark Mann, Mickey Mann; sisters, Kimberly McIntyre and Diane Neithold; granddaughters, Christine Morey Pardue and JoAnn Elizabeth Mann. He has many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Westview Cemetery with Pastor Luis Miranda officiating. Visitation will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Rivermont Baptist Church.
