Roy Eubanks Obituary

On April 12th, 2024, the Lord called Roy Albert Eubanks home. He was
preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Huffman Eubanks, father Chris Eubanks,
and infant brother. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Eubanks; children Michelle
Marshburn and husband Glen; grandchildren Jordan Minshew and wife Katie, Amber
Marshburn, and Zach Marshburn; great-grandchildren, Paisley Marshburn and Cleo
Minshew; three siblings, Christine Heath and husband Ronnie, Ann Carter and husband
Bobby, Wanda Gay Eubanks and wife Debbie Balance, and many nieces, nephews,
cousins, and a host of friends and acquaintances who will miss him dearly.
Roy lived an accomplished life both socially and professionally. Many remember
Mr. Roy as the agriculture teacher at North Lenoir High School where he worked from
1966-1989. An avid advocate for the career and technical education program, Roy
went on to become the Vocational Director of Duplin County Schools and Career
Development Coordinator of Spring Creek High School. Roy was a dedicated member
of the Future Farmers of America organization (FFA), earning the Degree of Honorary
Chapter Farmer and Blue and Gold Award. Roy also was an active participant with the
Ruritan Club for many years. Roy was recognized for his life work in 1996 when he was
awarded with the governor’s highest honor, “Order of the Long Leaf Pine.”
Roy touched many lives throughout his career and was beloved by all who knew
him. Though he took great pride in his professional endeavors, Roy will be missed most
by those who called him family. He was a pillar of the family, a pine tree. Solid.
Grounded. He was wise enough to know that sometimes you have to bend with the
wind, and could be seen standing tall in every season. His faith was strong and kept
him steady all the way until his passing. The world won’t be the same without him.
The family appreciates everyone's sympathies and in lieu of flowers or food, the family
would like you to make donations in Roy’s honor to the North Lenoir Agriculture
Program.
