Royce Sutton Thomas

Royce S. Thomas, 81, of Kinston passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his home.

He is preceded in death by his wife Dixie Jean Thomas and parents George Lewis Thomas and Grace Black Thomas.

Royce is survived by his daughter Kimberly Rademacher and husband Jeff of New Bern; son Steven Thomas and wife Annette of Birmingham, AL; granddaughters Holly Thomas, Amanda Thomas, Emily Rademacher; grandson Lucas Rademacher and great-granddaughter Dixieanna Thomas; brother Harold Thomas and wife Nan.

Royce and his wife Dixie were the owners of Surf and Turf Restaurant in Kinston for 27 years.  He served in the US Army and Army National Guard.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.  He loved sports, especially baseball, cooking, playing music, serving his community and especially spending time with his family.  He had a strong faith in God and lived his life to help others.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 7, at 1:00 pm at Grainger Stadium.  Friends attending are encouraged to wear any sports attire.
