Ruby Bellmira (Fields) Whaley

Ruby Bellmira Fields Whaley, 95, of Seven Springs, NC passed away at her home, surrounded by her children.  She was predeceased by her husband, James Jerritt Whaley;

daughter, Gina Stallings; son, Charles Whaley; sister, Lucille Potter and brothers, James Fields, Kenneth Fields and Francis Fields.

Ruby was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness Church. She worked as a seamstress at Albain Shirt Factory for many years.  She loved mowing her own lawn on her John Deere lawn mower.  She enjoyed gardening, diamond painting and spending time with her children.  She was a great cook, especially her fried chicken and home made biscuits.

Ruby is survived by daughters, Janet Hildreth of Seven Springs, Linda Whaley of Seven Springs, Elizabeth Whaley of Garland, TX, Pamela W. Balderas and husband, Roberto of Seven Springs and Ginger Barfield and husband, Greg of St. Augustine, FL; sons, James Whaley, Jr. and wife, Denelda of Albertson, Michael Whaley of Seven Springs and Francis Whaley and wife, Carrie of Mt. Olive;  her beloved caregiver of four years, Shatonia Brown whom she considered a daughter; thirty grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren; and her special dog, Mandy.

Visitation will be at 12:00 pm Monday, January 20, 2025 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with funeral to follow at 1:00 with Brother Frank Jones presiding.  Burial will be held at Pinelawn Memorial Park following the service.
