Samuel Morris Rigsbee

Samuel Morris Rigsbee, 94, of Kinston, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Dorothy “Dot” Davenport Rigsbee; parents, William Isaac and Hannah Swindell Rigsbee; sisters, Annie, Louise, Lucy, and Mary Anne, and brothers, Charles, George, William, Murlon, and Fredrick.

Morris was a farmer and member of Woodington United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Gail R. Holland (Jackie) of Kinston; son, Sammy Rigsbee (Shelby) of Kinston; grandchildren, Stuart Rigsbee (J.P.), Susan Taylor (West), Summer Dickinson (John), and Jacqueline Sydnor (Cas); great-grandchildren, Samantha Taylor, Silas Rigsbee, Sawyer Sydnor, Starke Sydnor, Stewart Sydnor, Mary-Michael Dickinson, and Colton Dickinson; sister-in-law, Mavis K. Rigsbee of Kinston, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to 3HC, Tammy Jones and daughter, Skylar, and Renita Whitfield for their wonderful care.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Pastor Mike Whatley officiating.
