Thelma Irene (Grice) Galog

Thelma Irene Grice Galog, 89, of Kinston, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at the home of her daughter, Theresa. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter Howard Grice and Geneva Wadsworth Grice, husband, John Frances Galog, Sr., and daughter, Sheila Galog Hill.

Thelma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. She volunteered her time as a Pink Lady at Lenoir Memorial Hospital for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo, and loved her dog, Opal, with all her heart. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed greatly.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Hardison and husband, Allen “Tink”; son, John Frances Galog, Jr. and wife, Tamera; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren, and many other close family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Community Home Hospice for their wonderful care of Thelma during her final days.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Baker Family Cemetery behind Southwood Christian Church, 1251 Strawberry Branch Road, Kinston, NC 28501. Pastor Rick Vernon will officiate. A visitation will follow the service and will be other times at the home of Thelma’s daughter, Theresa.
