Thelma Joyce (White) Grady

Thelma Joyce “Susie” White Grady, 78, of Kinston passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie White and Ruby Potter White, son, Tim Simmons; brother, Buddy White, and sisters, Betsy May, Doris Smith, Dorothy Avery, Margaret Crouse, and Nannie Ruth Davis.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristi Oliver and husband, Steve, of Pink Hill; son, Tony Simmons and wife, Tammy, of Kinston; grandchildren, Everett Oliver, Eric Simmons, Aubrey Simmons, Brandon Simmons, and Rianon Simmons; great-grandchildren, Kassidy Simmons, Kaley Simmons, and Maci Anderson; sisters, Hilda Haire, of Garner, and many special nieces, nephews, and other family members.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to Susie’s neighbors, Faye Davis, Joyce Byrd, and Becky Holmes, for their loving care.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 28, 2021 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Pastor James Sowers officiating.
