Thomas Glenn Thigpen, 78, of Seven Springs, NC passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025 at UNC Wayne Hospital, Goldsboro, NC. Mr. Thigpen was predeceased by his parents; son, Steven Lowery and brother, John Thigpen.
Thomas served in the US Navy from 1965 until he retired in October of 1985.
Thomas was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Thomas married Linda in August of 1991 and between the two of them they had eleven children and would become a blended family. Thomas not only raised his five kids but helped raise six more with no hesitation even when
He was having to referee fights between the kids. Thomas’ pride and joy was his wife, Linda and his family. He would stop whatever he was doing to help his family. Thomas loved his children but his grand kids were the apple of his eye and he could never tell one of them no. Thomas was a man of many talents but his favorite hobbies were buying and fixing old cars and spoiling his grandchildren to the point where their parents can no longer afford the grandchildren’ lifestyle. When he was at the house, you could always find him in his shop or his computer room fixing a computer. He quickly became the family’s’ mechanic and was always fixing someone’s car. He was the best husband, father and papa we could have ever asked for.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Earls Thigpen; daughters, Rachel Cavenaugh and husband Hogue of Wallace, NC, Zara Thigpen, of Hawaii, Rebecca Merrill and husband, Chip of Portland, OR, Melissa Perry and husband, Les of LaGrange and Kathy Seymore of LaGrange; sons, Michael Thigpen and wife, Caroline of Hong Kong, William Thigpen of LaGrange, Kevin Thigpen and wife, Ashley of Seven Springs, Jason Thigpen and wife, Crystal of Fuquay Varina and Brann Lowery and wife Resica of Wake Forest; eighteen grandchildren, Jessica, Hunter, Taylor, Logan, Brady, Hannah, Ashton, Kaylee, Skye, Zane, Steven, Laken, Indie, Renna, Edrallyn,
Jasmine and Jade; 6 great-grandchildren, Payton, Luke, Carson, Aubrey, Cayden and Joshua; sisters, Susan O’Neal, Martha Blizzard, Lou Ann Brown; brothers, Kenneth Thigpen and wife, Donna, Virgil Thigpen and wife, Doris, Bobby Thigpen and wife Chinok and David Thigpen and wife Sherie.
