Treva Jo McLawhorn, 43, of Pink Hill went to be with her baby, Tyler, and her Lord and Savior, on Saturday, February 19, 2022, while surrounded by her family in her home. She was born in Kinston, NC to parents Paul McLawhorn and Janice Edwards. She was preceded in death by her son, Tyler Whitfield, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
She attended East Duplin High School and studied Phlebotomy at Lenoir Community College. She was a phlebotomist at UNC Lenoir Healthcare. Everyone who knew Treva knew that one of her favorite things was being a devoted mother and a proud MIMI. She loved spending time with family, especially hosting family gatherings, dancing with James, getting pedicures with her girls, spending time with her friends, going to the beach, going to church, riding motorcycles, as well as so much more. Her battle with liver cancer in recent years showed her courage in facing life challenges with a smile. She was a strong, courageous fighter, and had a smile that could light up a room.
She is loved and survived by her soulmate, James Rogers; daughters, Destiny Heath, and husband, Morgan, Taylor Whitfield, and Quise; grandchildren, Tyler and Ansley Heath; mother, Janice Edwards; sisters, Jamie Green, and husband, Glenn, Amber Allinen; brother, James Paul McLawhorn; father, Paul McLawhorn; nieces, Skylor and Starr; nephew, Camden; great nieces and nephews; along with several special family members and friends.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
