Victor Sopina Obituary

Victor John Sopina, 83, recently of Raleigh, NC, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. Vic was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He was a retired Master Chief Petty Officer and served his country for 26 years in the United States Navy as a Cryptologic Technician and then worked for the United States Post Office as a Letter Carrier. Vic spent many happy days in his workshop at the house in Pace, Florida, woodworking and completing repair projects. He traveled across the United States on his motorcycle and spent several years with his wife Peggy, camping in their fifth-wheel trailer visiting friends and family. He loved running, physical fitness, music, and talking with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Deno and Victor Sopina, as well as his brother, Norman Sopina.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Sopina, daughter, Karen Sopina Little, son, Victor Sopina, and his 3 grandchildren, Shelby, Abigale, and Lucas Sopina, all of Raleigh, and by his sisters,  Ramona Larson, Judy Westphal, Kathleen Grontkowski, and Janielle Price, all of Wisconsin, and sisters, Marlene LaPalm, Mary Ann Steed, and brother, Richard Deno, all of Michigan.

Vic requested cremation with a burial at sea, which will be scheduled at a later date.
