Wanda "Faye" (Hawkins) Mallard

Wanda "Faye" Hawkins Mallard, 83, of Trenton, N.C., departed this life on Thursday, July 24, 2025. Born on August 22, 1941, in Lenoir County, North Carolina, Wanda was the daughter of the late Thomas Edward Hawkins and Junie Mae Lee Hawkins.

Wanda worked at Brody’s Department Store in the Business office. Afterwards, she joined the finance department at Hampton Industries for many years. She ended her career with retiring from BB&T in Trenton.

She loved to go fishing and go on trips with her sister Mary and her husband Taft. Traveling to Myrtle Beach with her family was her favorite pastime.  Wanda enjoyed spending time at the beach.

Family was important to Wanda, and she loved them with all her heart. Being the good cook that she was, Wanda liked to cook for her family and have them over to spend time with them, especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also loved her sweet little dog, “Princess”, who was her best friend.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Albert Lewis Mallard, brothers; Thomas Lloyd “Cricket” Hawkins, Billy Lee Hawkins, Ronald Bruce Hawkins, and Herman Hawkins.

She is survived by her sons; Murriel D. Mallard of Trenton and Morris E. Mallard of Trenton, sister; Mary H. Parker of Kinston, brothers; Durwood Hawkins of Dover, Donald Hawkins of Pink Hill, and Douglas Hawkins and wife Hilda of La Grange, grandchildren; Corey Mallard (Julia), Carter Mallard, great grandson; Charlie Mallard and step grandchildren; Becky Eastwood and Brandy Metts,

A service of remembrance will be held Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Allen ham officiating.
